Gathering Stars is an autobiographical project about motherhood, healing, and wonder.

It was the first day of spring and winter. I gathered you up quickly, paint still wet on our fingers, and placed you in the stroller. Through the doors my ears heard the singing of birds and my skin felt the cool, slow air of March. I pushed you up the gravelly sidewalk and tears began to fall, my diagnosis reverberating in my body. 

Life and death found each other in my breast like two repelling Norths.
