THE PAPER FILMS

Cutting Paper, Stitching Paper, and Mending Paper are a trilogy of short film collaborations with Dora award-winning, contemporary dance artist Jennifer Dallas. In 2017, inspired by the short story The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, we made our first short film, Cutting Paper, which was micro commissioned by RT Collective / Dancemakers / Ontario Arts Council and screened at DanceMoves in Toronto. Our first film collaboration inspired two more – Stitching Paper (2020) and Mending Paper (2020), which was supported by the Canada Council for the Arts. The Paper Films trilogy tell the story of an artist’s journey to becoming a mother as she navigates between trust and fear, presence and distraction to find conviction in her creative voice.
