THE PINK THREAD

The Pink Thread was a collaborative experiment and artist residency in motherhood with my three year old daughter and 100 yards of pink fabric in the summer of 2022 in Montana. Together, we manipulated and transformed the fabric as we installed it in outdoor spaces as a creative playscape. The project began as a braid of practice, purpose, and possibility: to provide my daughter with rich opportunities for creative expression and to teach her how to make art-making a life practice, to fulfill my desire to make art while mothering, and to respond to my feelings of disconnection from myself, my children, and sense of place. The Pink Thread is the thread of connection, of care, of wonder.
